Every new year we are inundated with weight loss, fitness and plastic surgery infomercials seeming to promise us the world. But is it really about the number on the scale, or a body fat %, or the circumference of our tummies, hips and thighs? Those are personal questions that I can’t answer for you, but I will answer them from my perspective.
I certainly don’t define people by those things and have no room in my life for those who would define me by them. Doing so would mean our worth lies in the sum of our numbers. But full disclosure, when I’m not as fit as I’d like to be, or my clothes are fitting a little too snugly, I don’t feel my healthy best, and I have a tendency to shrink back, hide and avoid. Pretty sure hiding and avoiding won’t lead to a highly fulfilling life.
So then what is it all about? For me it’s about staying active and healthy enough to live the life I want to live without obsessing over exercise, food and my weight. The number on the scale or how I look in my clothes doesn’t make me the person I am, but feeling healthy, fit and attractive does help me be the person I want to be. And that’s what it’s about.
Master Life Coach Stacey Andon and I would like to help you figure out that same question. Please join us on Saturday, January 20th from 10am-1pm at The Manor Tavern and Start Your 2018 Soul-Full!
